The DEM Party will hold its 5th Ordinary Grand Congress on September 6 at the Nazım Hikmet Cultural Center in Ankara. The congress, which is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM, will convene in accordance with legal requirements.

While it is noted that the party held its last ordinary congress in October 2023, no changes to the party's name, bylaws, or program are expected at this congress. The re-election of co-chairs Tuncer Bakırhan and Tülay Hatimoğulları is considered a certainty.

The congress, which will be held with the participation of delegates, will address the election of party bodies and evaluations of the bylaws. Furthermore, it is anticipated that a declaration regarding the upcoming political period will be shared with the public.

A limited number of changes are expected to be made to the Central Executive Board and the Party Assembly during the congress. A comprehensive renewal of the party leadership is not seen as the main agenda of this meeting.

It is stated that the DEM Party is planning a more comprehensive change and restructuring congress following the 5th Ordinary Grand Congress. This congress is expected to be held in the spring of 2027, in coordination with the implementation of the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration.
