Meral Danış Beştaş, the DEM Party's co-mayoral candidate for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, made significant statements 24 days before the IMM elections.

In an interview with Anıl Mert Özsoy from Gazete Duvar, Beştaş said, "We want to see our presence and our voters. For us, winning means increasing our vote... Every support means winning a bond of affection. We set out to expand our organizational and political base.”

Commenting on the polls reflected in the public eye, Beştaş stated, "We do not see a shift of votes to İmamoğlu."

Touching upon her party's "urban consensus" policy, Beştaş noted that they do not agree with the CHP on many issues.

Beştaş continued her words as follows:

"We cannot constantly vote for other 'tables' or parties. We do what we say, and we say what we do. Is our only qualification to be a party that 'makes others win' or 'makes others lose'? We are in opposition to the government, not to the opposition.”
