DEM Party’s MHP ‘warning’ to AKP: ‘One day it will bring about your end…’

Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan made statements regarding the current agenda at his party's group meeting.

Addressing AKP Chair and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statement that 'We are the government that has been subjected to the most coup attempts in Turkey's history,' Bakırhan asked, "Well, if you were subjected to a coup attempt, what happened to us? This is our 12th party, have some mercy. Thousands of our executives are in prisons; there is no room left because of us. They keep opening new prisons. One has to laugh this off. It wasn't as if they weren't the ones who said 'July 15 is a gift from God.' The Kobani Conspiracy case, the Gezi case, the HDP closure case, and all the hostage cases that have continued to this day are each an open coup. Is keeping elected people in prison not a coup? Is a coup necessarily just tanks or boots?"

Continuing his remarks, Bakırhan stated the following:

"When you look at the perpetrators of the coups in the last 70 years, their declarations, and the aftermath, you will see a single party. We constantly see the MHP in these coups. The main actor of the crisis and chaos in the 70s and 90s is again the MHP. Because they derive their existence from crisis, chaos, and coups. Today, by taking the AKP along with them, they are carrying out coups every day against democratic politics and social demands. In the past, the state used to control the mafia and gangs. Rest assured, no gang or mafia would move a single piece of trash from one place to another without the state's knowledge. In today's Turkey, including murders, mafias and gangs now control the state. Let no one try to sell this gang order as public order. Turkish society no longer believes this."

"THE MHP WILL BRING ABOUT YOUR END"

Recalling the Sinan Ateş murder, Bakırhan said, "A murder was committed in the middle of Ankara; there is no one taking action, go ahead, take action. Of course, they won't. Why? Because what they call 'survival' is the survival of this gang order. Until just a year ago, we had a ministry that protected gangs and mafias. The minister's name is mentioned in records regarding drug trafficking. These facts are fixed in the statements given by these gangs and mafias when they were taken into custody," he said.

Bakırhan claimed, "The alliance with the MHP might be working for the AKP today. But rest assured, the MHP, which is the main actor behind all chaos and crises, will one day bring about the end of the AKP as well. Wherever we go, on the streets, in the provinces we visit, real AKP members are uncomfortable with this alliance. We all know about this discomfort; the Palace does not."
