Democrat Party decides to 'support' Ankara and Istanbul: Posts shared for Mansur Yavaş and Ekrem İmamoğlu

Democrat Party Chairman Gültekin Uysal has announced that they will support CHP candidates in the local elections for Istanbul and Ankara.

Democrat Party Chairman Gültekin Uysal, in the March 31 local elections, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaşannounced that they will support them.

STATEMENT OF SUPPORT FOR YAVAŞ

In a statement made on his social media account, Gültekin Uysal said, "My Mayor Mansur; you succeeded in lifting the dark shroud over Ankara 5 years ago by putting an end to the greatest looting movement Ankara has suffered since the Mongol Invasion; we are sure that you will perform many more beautiful services as the Mayor of our Capital! May God clear your path!" he said.

Mansur Yavaş replied, "I convey my thanks to Democrat Party Chairman Mr. Gültekin Uysal for their support. We will continue to work without disappointing the people who believe in us." he responded.

"WE HAD A GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH İMAMOĞLU"

Uysal also announced his support for Ekrem İmamoğlu in another social media post. 

"We have had a good working relationship with our Mayor for 5 years; we were able to present our suggestions for Istanbul and develop projects together," said Uysal, adding, "Looking at these 5 years, as the Democrat Party, we have concluded that the right thing for the people of Istanbul is to fight together with Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu during this critical election process." he stated.

"WE ARE BEHIND HIM ALL THE WAY"

Gültekin Uysal said the following in his statement:

"Erdoğan had confessed to the AKP's 25 years in Istanbul by saying, 'We have betrayed this city, and we still are.' There is no remorse, no shame, no hesitation. He is so proud of his work that today he is trying to make one of those who brought Istanbul to this state, and one of the most prominent ones at that, the mayor of Istanbul. 

As the Democrat Party, we shouted just yesterday in Saraçhane, 'We will never let those who stole our past steal our future.' We are at the same point today. Preventing such an emphasis, such a plunder from happening again is our duty to our nation.

Today we see that those who stole our past are trying to steal our future as well. Our concern is the nation. On one side, there are the architects of the betrayal of Istanbul; on the other, a mayor who recovered the damage done in 25 years in just 5 years. On one side, there are those who committed a white-collar robbery in Istanbul that Anatolia has not seen since the Mongol Invasion; on the other, there is Mr. İmamoğlu, who stopped this robbery, ended the waste, and used the nation's resources to provide services to the nation.

We have had a good working relationship with our Mayor for 5 years; we were able to present our suggestions for Istanbul and develop projects together. 

Looking at these 5 years, as the Democrat Party, we have concluded that the right thing for the people of Istanbul is to fight together with Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu during this critical election process.

We have full faith that we will continue to work together and with the same harmony with our Mayor.

With the hope of achieving much greater successes together in his second term, we are behind Mayor Ekrem all the way."
