Deniz Yavuzyılmaz reacts to train line project: 'AKP is seeking to transfer funds to crony companies through rent-seeking projects'

CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz stated regarding the Delice-Çorum High-Speed Train Line Project, "While the AK Party forces minimum wage earners, civil servants, retirees, and workers to live below the poverty line by saying 'there is no money in the Treasury,' on the other hand, it is seeking to transfer the money accumulated in the treasury through citizens' tax payments to crony companies via rent-seeking projects. In its current form, this tender is a public loss in itself."

In its current form, this tender is a public loss in itself."

CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz spoke about the tender for the Delice-Çorum High-Speed Train Line Project. Yavuzyılmaz noted the following:

"The AK Party's love for rent-seeking never ends. Foul odors continue to emanate from the Delice-Çorum High-Speed Train Line tender. It is absurd that the 21/B bargaining method, which is used only in cases of earthquakes, floods, epidemics, and natural disasters, has been determined as the tender management method. Because there is no earthquake, no flood, and no epidemic in the Delice-Çorum region. Then why is this tender method being chosen? There is a huge question mark over this issue.

The management of this 80 billion lira tender is not open to the competition of all companies. Only a certain number of invited companies can enter the tender. It is not desired for companies to enter the tender and compete in a transparent and open manner. The AK Party does not want companies to compete; it wants high profits. Thus, AK Party officials plan to continue living in luxury and extravagance through the wealth transfer that will be made to the companies that will win this tender.

'THIS TENDER IS A PUBLIC LOSS IN ITSELF'

The companies invited to the tender are: Çelikler, Gülermak, YDA, Kolin, Rönesans, Yapı Merkezi, Doğuş. When these companies form two joint ventures of three and enter the tender, they determine the tender amount of this massive project with only two bids. In other words, a setup is allowed where companies can raise the tender amount to whatever level they want by colluding with each other.

The entire project consists of 3 stages: Delice-Çorum, Çorum-Merzifon, Merzifon-Samsun. The tender for the Delice-Çorum section has been postponed to December 31. It is understood that it is planned to give this tender to some of the companies invited to the tender for this section under the name of a joint venture, and to give the work of the other stages to the remaining companies. It is a complete collusive fight. While the AK Party forces minimum wage earners, civil servants, retirees, and workers to live below the poverty line by saying 'there is no money in the Treasury,' on the other hand, it is seeking to transfer the money accumulated in the treasury through citizens' tax payments to crony companies via rent-seeking projects. In its current form, this tender is a public loss in itself."
