İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made statements at his party's group meeting.

Dervişoğlu stated, "There is no place in the İYİ Party for so-called politics where a thousand candles of intrigue burn in a thousand rooms, emerging from the dark corridors of the Palace. In our politics, the only hand to hold is the calloused hand of our nation."

These words by Dervişoğlu were interpreted as a jab at the surprise visit made by former İYİ Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener to the Palace.

Highlights from Dervişoğlu's statements are as follows:

"Since the founding of the İYİ Party, dynamics in Turkey have begun to change. This change materialized with the demands and objections of millions of people uniting under the roof of the İYİ Party. The İYİ Party continues to increase its power to represent these demands coming from broad segments of society.

Our party's struggle is against those who use our local values for their own interests, those who see our natural resources as war booty, and those who turn our cities into piles of concrete. I believe we can win together, because victory is the union of many hearts.

REACTION TO THE NORMALIZATION PROCESS

For weeks, we have been addressing Erdoğan's tactics to divert the agenda from this podium. As long as these tactics prevent real problems from being discussed and solved, they cause our society to be dragged into poorer and more unjust conditions. The most prominent agenda item is the so-called 'normalization' process.

They are even shouting like street peddlers selling combs on a ferry, saying 'Normalization is here, New Constitution is free.' We are aware of the facts. We also know what the things announced with great fanfare by the Presidential Directorate of Communications, otherwise known as the 'Directorate of the One-Man's Trumpet,' serve.

The corruption, poverty, loss of identity, and the one-man system itself are what we stand against. Despite all kinds of impositions and games played on us, we are rebelling against this freak order. We certainly do not need those who drink loyalty as if it were boza, nor the sellers who accompany them. Our view of politics is this: Just as there is a hierarchy of norms in law, there is a hierarchy of interests and consciences in politics. At the very top of this hierarchy lies the common interest and common conscience of the nation. All other issues fall below it. The existence of the state is a whole with the existence and independence of the nation. The meaning of the state duty we jointly undertake is subject to this condition, that is, the covenant with the nation.

With this covenant, you give a great promise that you will shoulder two burdens. One burden is the responsibility of the nation's vote. The other burden is the responsibility of the nation's trust. And if those carried burdens are dropped, that path is no longer the path of politics. Whatever its name or form, it is a path of personal ambition and future. And history, unfortunately, is full of those who combine their personal ambitions with the political ambitions of occupiers, and those who try to explain this in some way. Is there a justifiable reason for not raising the minimum wage and pensions?

'SİNAN ATEŞ' RESPONSE TO ERDOĞAN
