Dervişoğlu’s reaction to the opening process: 'They are dismissing lieutenants, they want to recruit PKK members into the army!'
İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu harshly criticized the government's new resolution process steps during his parliamentary group meeting. Dervişoğlu attacked the government, stating, "Young lieutenants who say 'We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal' are being dismissed from school, while they are talking about recruiting PKK members into the army."

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made important statements regarding the agenda at his party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. On his agenda was the new resolution process initiated by the government under the name "Terror-Free Turkey." Clearly criticizing the government in his statements, Dervişoğlu drew attention specifically to practices within the army and counter-terrorism policies.
“YOUNG LIEUTENANTS ARE BEING DISMISSED, RECRUITING PKK MEMBERS IS BEING DREAMED OF”
Dervişoğlu used the following expressions, which drew particular attention in his statement:
“They are dismissing our young lieutenants from school because they say 'We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal'; they are talking about recruiting PKK members into the army! What kind of mental block is this?”
Here are the highlights from Dervişoğlu's speech:
"To us, July 15 is
A painful day when the nation had to pick up its state from the streets.
Just as much as what we experienced on July 15,
The process that led to this dark day and what followed is also painful.
The real issue we need to think about
Is how we understand and evaluate July 15 today.
Why am I talking about this?
I am talking about the 'governance mentality' of the current government,
Which is both the cause and the result of this grave event.
The subcontractors have changed, but the governance mentality remains the same.
In fact, this mentality has become even more rigid,
Even more widespread, and has turned into the sole regime for governing the state.
And the most painful part is that this rot has been normalized through state of emergency tools.
Let us define it:
The name of this government mentality, of this rot,
Which is marketed to us as if it were normal and ordinary;
Marketed with grand words about survival and security, is 'privilege'.
It is the continuation of the pleasures of the privileged.
In other words, it is the same as yesterday…
What was fortified yesterday under the guise of the Community (Cemaat),
Is today being distributed from a single source by the hand of the palace.
This is a regime of privilege.
It is the regime of those who want privilege, not equality,
Of those who want special treatment, not law.
It is the regime of those who do not want to serve the Turkish Nation,
But want to make the Turkish Nation their servant.
Those who kiss handkerchiefs, those who kiss jackets, those who kiss hands and feet prosper
Great Turkish Nation;
This is exactly the reason for the economic misery experienced today.
Because a handful of interest groups, 3-5 thousand people,
While chasing to perpetuate their own privileges,
Are seizing the livelihood of 86 million,
They are plundering it, they are sharing it among themselves.
I want to address my nation:
Just as the roads, bridges, hospitals, and schools,
Which are said to be built as a service to you with your own money and resources,
Have become subjects of trade, not service.
Even more gravely,
The ways of doing politics in Turkey have also been paved from here.
Highways were built here, bridges connected these lobbies to each other.
This is how a Turkey whose sacred values are devalued and whose values are trampled upon was built.
In other words, the Palace is the cause; misery, insecurity, and injustice are the results.
Today, the negotiation process carried out with İmralı and Kandil is the same.
Politics has been eliminated with all its means and methods.
Like picking fruit from a tree,
Mayors and politicians are being rounded up with morning operations.
While judges and prosecutors are looking at their own cases,
The only job of the Minister of Justice is to make statements saying, 'Turkey is a state of law.'
This is what a Terror-Free Turkey is.
Turkey is only as terror-free as it is a state of law.
However, for them, a Terror-Free Turkey
Means that in Turkey, a terrorist will no longer be called a terrorist.
Look at the scene well, my friends!
Because they say 'We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal',
They are dismissing our young lieutenants from school;
They are talking about recruiting PKK members into the army!
Those who cannot properly explain what happened to our 12 martyrs, why it happened,
Whether they died in a cave, by burning, by poisoning, by a bomb, or in a clash;
While the bodies of the martyrs have not even reached the soil yet,
Those who meet with İmralı's couriers at the palace,
Are talking about the possibility of recruiting PKK members into the army;
And they are explaining this as if it were something reasonable.
I am addressing all interlocutors.
There is a bloody movement that has been carried out with weapons for 50 years.
What is its goal?
An ethnic and regional fragmentation!
Now you are saying, you put down those weapons,
Let us achieve this goal together.
In other words, you are saying,
Let us do with words, consensus, and agreement what you could not do with weapons, is that right?
For 100 years, Imperialism
Has aimed to divide Turkey into two.
Now you are not even satisfied with two,
You are saying let us divide it into three by saying Turk-Kurd-Arab, is that right?
In other words, you are saying we did not take in millions of Syrians for nothing, is that right?
I asked before, let me ask again:
What kind of impasse have you reached that you are willing to realize Imperialism's plans for Turkey and equate the State with a subcontracted terrorist organization?
How is it part of a plan to imprison Selahattin Demirtaş
And meet with Apo and Kandil?
I am asking, explain it so we know!
I am addressing those who are a hope for Apo and a disappointment for the Nation!
I am addressing those who pick up the terrorist organization from where it fell,
And put it back in front of the Kurd and the Turk!
And then you stand up and tell the İYİ Party
To join the process of eliminating our nation-state and Republic project.
You want us to act as brokers in a so-called Commission.
You are looking for skull-crushing reactions from us by creating partners for the Turkish Nation,
You want us to be pawns in your ethnic games.
You want us to swing a sledgehammer in the destruction of the Republic,
To water the concrete you poured over the law,
To sign a made-up New Treaty of Sèvres!
We are not irresponsible, brother!
We have not stooped so low as to see this homeland as capital!
We are not those devoid of consciousness who would forget the projects of the Muhibbists and the Mandatists,
Who are sworn to erase the Turkish Nation from the stage of history!"
