Dervişoğlu's harsh words for Bahçeli: 'The betrayal process has stalled'

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu responded with harsh language to the statements made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli regarding the process surrounding developments in Aleppo. Arguing that the process has stalled, Dervişoğlu remarked, "They are turning back, but our nation will not forgive them."

"THE BETRAYAL PROJECT HAS NOW REACHED ITS END"

While discussions continue regarding a deadlock in the process dubbed "A Turkey Without Terrorism" due to the refusal of the PKK's Syrian branch, the SDG/YPG, to lay down arms, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's remarks at his party's group meeting regarding Mazlum Abdi's failure to heed the call of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan had become a major agenda item. The DEM Party had also responded harshly to these words.

Speaking after these discussions, Dervişoğlu used the following expressions:

"The betrayal project that was intended to be imposed on our nation under the pretext of ending terrorism has now reached its end due to national resistance and geopolitical realities. While joint report efforts continue on one hand, we see that the political structure that sparked this process has begun to face the realities we have been reminding them of since the very first day."

"WE HAVE ALWAYS REMINDED THEM OF TWO REALITIES"

Stating, "Since the very first announcement where the terrorist leader was invited to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), we have persistently reminded them of these two realities," Dervişoğlu listed the following points:

"The PKK and its political extensions have not abandoned any of their demands, primarily the goal of opening the founding values of our Republic to debate and eliminating our unitary structure through constitutional change."

"The PKK's Syrian extension, the YPG, has not laid down its arms and will not do so."

In this context, Dervişoğlu stated, "The organization, whose will is in the hands of imperial powers, aims to establish a terrorist state through the process that began under the guise of autonomy in Syria. With this process, it is also gaining time. These realities have also found resonance in the conscience of our nation."

"THESE WORDS WOUNDED THE CONSCIENCE"

Evaluating MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's use of the term "Zionist puppet" for YPG ringleader Mazlum Abdi while referring to PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan as a "founding leader," Dervişoğlu described this as "a mental blackout that has wounded the conscience of our nation."

Dervişoğlu further added, "At the point we have reached, we see that the mind that pushed the button 15 months ago has begun to accept these realities, albeit in a different language. However, even while trying to escape the political cost of the failure of the betrayal project, they continue to make mistakes."

"THE GREAT TURKISH NATION WILL NOT FORGET"

The İYİ Party Chairman stated, "I would like to specifically state that the great Turkish Nation will not forget a single word spoken during this process."

In a statement made on his social media account, Dervişoğlu also included the following words:

"It has emerged that those who constantly hide behind the concept of 'state wisdom' and create a mysterious persona for themselves represent a mediocre political understanding, incapable of seeing even the tip of their own noses. Fortunately, there is the İYİ Party, which centers the values of the Republic, protects the rights and laws of every citizen regardless of their ethnic origin and of its state, and represents reasonable politics.

It has stated what is happening today from the very first day and has taken its place by the side of its nation, directly against this betrayal process. May our nation be at ease. Against every attack directed at our Republic and our unity, the İYİ Party is the 'LAST BASTION' and stands tall."
