Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici made statements regarding the cancellation lawsuit concerning the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention.

Meeting with journalists in a hotel conference hall as part of his party's "Eastern Anatolia Workshop" program, Destici answered questions regarding the lawsuit filed to cancel the CHP convention.

Stating that political parties have their own specific laws under the Constitution, Destici said:

"I do not expect a different decision from the court. I also think that a different decision would not be in line with existing practices and current law. But on the other hand, there is another issue. Phones were distributed, children were hired for jobs, and money was given to influence the outcome of a convention. A lot of immoral and illegal things were done. The court may make a decision regarding this. But I do not think it will be a decision that will affect the outcome of the convention. There is no precedent for this to date. Both party and election conventions are decided by the district election board, and once the Supreme Election Council makes a final ruling, the path is closed. The other issue is corruption and immorality. There may be an investigation regarding that."

Regarding the operations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), Destici argued that it is a legal process and that he finds it very natural for a legal process to begin, provided that the presumption of innocence is respected.

The meeting was attended by Great Unity Party deputy chairmen, regional provincial and district organization members, and journalists.
