Destici offers conditional support for the 'opening process' he previously criticized: 'Without any of these being done...'

Meeting with members of the press at a hotel in the Palandöken Ski Center in Erzurum, BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici made assessments regarding the second opening process, which is being called a "Terror-Free Turkey." Destici expressed that they are against advancing the process before fundamental solutions regarding the terrorist organization PKK are realized.

In his statement, Destici said, "No legal or constitutional steps should ever be taken before the PKK lays down its arms with all its elements and dissolves itself with all its elements. I am saying this clearly. If they are taken, we will not be on that side. They will lay down their arms and close all their elements. They will close all their offices in Iran, Iraq, and Europe. Only then can we sit down and talk. But currently, none of these have been done. We will not be on the side of any legal or constitutional arrangement without any of these being done."

Destici stated that as a party, they are not a structure that only appears during election periods, but one that acts in line with its mission and principles, and for this reason, they always voice what they believe to be right.

Previously evaluating the AKP's approach to his criticisms within the People's Alliance, Destici said, "I have conversations with our Minister of Treasury and Finance. Other friends from the AK Party make slight jabs regarding our demands. But they also know the truth. Who could have a word to say against retirees? Retirees are right. They are not asking for much. It is a subject everyone agrees on. There is an injustice against retirees. If there is a grievance, we cannot remain silent. We are not a party established just to enter and exit elections. We are a political movement. We have an idea and a mission. We say what we know to be right. We are also saying what we know to be right in the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process. But our friends in the AK Party also welcome it; there is no problem."

In the same speech, making assessments regarding election expectations, Destici stated that they expect the next election to take place at the end of 2027 or the beginning of 2028 and that their support for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will continue.
