A message from detained Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan!

Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, for whom a detention order was issued as part of a terror investigation focused on "urban consensus" launched into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), shared a notable message on his social media account before his statement. In his handwritten note, Şahan addressed his colleagues and the people of Şişli.

HANDWRITTEN MESSAGE: "THE MORE THE OPPRESSOR'S TYRANNY INCREASES, THE CLOSER THEIR END IS"

While in custody, Şahan shared a message written in his own handwriting on the social media platform X shortly before his statement was taken. In the note, which contained emotional expressions, Şahan thanked both municipal employees and those who supported him:

"My dear colleagues, we have achieved great successes together in a very short time. We have much more work to do. I saw the images of you standing by Şişli and the municipality. They tell the truth of you standing by me. I am very well, my comrades, very well. I will work even harder when I get out to be worthy of you. I have always said, the more the oppressor's tyranny increases, the closer their end is. My friends, it won't be long now, not long at all. The Şişli Municipality is yours, do not let it go. I love you all very much."

İMAMOĞLU AND MAHİR POLAT WILL ALSO GIVE STATEMENTS

It has been learned that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and İBB Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat have also been summoned to give statements. Şahan's statement will be taken at the Istanbul Provincial Police Department in the morning hours.
