Detention order for Ekrem İmamoğlu... Statement from IMM
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, whose university diploma was revoked, was detained in an operation conducted at his home in the morning hours. A detention order was issued for 106 people, including mayors and senior executives, alongside İmamoğlu. Following the detention orders, a statement was issued by the IMM.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and potential CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu was detained in a police operation conducted at his home in the morning hours. In the same operation, İmamoğlu's colleagues and numerous municipal executives were also detained.
While IMM Mayor İmamoğlu's home was being searched, it was reported that he was taken to the Istanbul Police Department on Vatan Street around 10:00 AM.
It was noted that the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office used the term "leader of a criminal organization" in its statement regarding İmamoğlu, whose university diploma was revoked yesterday evening.
DETENTION ORDER FOR 106 PEOPLE
Within the scope of the investigation, a detention order was issued not only for İmamoğlu but also for many names from the IMM senior management. It was announced that a total of 106 people were issued detention orders, including Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, Medya AŞ Chairman of the Board Murat Ongun, Reform Institute President Mehmet Ali Çalışkan, İmamoğlu's advisor Tuncay Yılmaz, Fatih Keleş, Ertan Yıldız, and artist Ercan Saatçi.
STATEMENT FROM IMM
Finally, a last-minute statement was issued by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).
The statement issued by the IMM included the following expressions:
"Dear Istanbulites,
Today, we are witnessing a process that is extremely saddening for our country and our nation. In line with our belief in the rule of law and democratic will, we are following the developments closely.
We have full faith that justice will be restored as soon as possible and that all our colleagues, primarily our esteemed Mayor, will return to their duties.
In this process, the most important responsibility that falls upon us is to continue providing uninterrupted and high-quality service to 16 million Istanbulites, just as we have done until today. Together with all our colleagues, we will remain at our posts and continue our responsibility to our city with the same determination.
With our belief that everything will be better as soon as possible, we present our respects."
