Detentions over social media posts regarding Ekrem İmamoğlu

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made significant statements regarding the protest demonstrations held following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Yerlikaya announced that 16 police officers were injured during the demonstrations and 53 protesters were taken into custody.
326 SUSPICIOUS ACCOUNTS IDENTIFIED
Yerlikaya also reported that an operation has been launched regarding crimes of inciting the public to hatred and enmity and encouraging the commission of crimes via social media. He announced that as a result of the investigations, a total of 326 suspicious account managers have been identified, 72 of whom are located abroad. It was emphasized that while 54 suspects have been apprehended so far, efforts to capture the remaining suspects are ongoing.
Yerlikaya stated that legal action has been taken against 53 individuals for the crimes of "Damaging Public Property" and "Resisting to Prevent the Performance of Duty," particularly in Istanbul and several other provinces where the protests were intense.
