Devlet Bahçeli puts an end to early election debates: Support for the proposal

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli made evaluations regarding the agenda at his party's group meeting. Responding to journalists' questions after the meeting, Bahçeli was asked about the election date of April 16, 2028, proposed by Chief Presidential Advisor Mehmet Uçum. Bahçeli stated, "There is not even an hour's difference between holding the elections on time and the date given by our President's advisor. Our President is in office, and we are behind him. What matters is that the elections are held on time."

Bahçeli also stated that he finds early election debates unnecessary, emphasizing that "holding elections on time is important for the country's stability."

In his speech, touching upon the education and career development processes of young people, Bahçeli used the following words:

"I congratulate our children, their teachers, and their families who sweat to build their future. No exam is an authority to judge their values or measure their intelligence. For us, every child is our national wealth. It is the duty of all of us to protect them from digital addiction, social media trends, and suggestions that target the future of our country. Dear youth; you will read and research. You will think and question. You will produce. Have a profession, stand on your own two feet with the sweat of your brow. You are the hope of this country."

In his speech, Bahçeli criticized the policies recently pursued by Israel with harsh expressions. Stating that Israel has escalated violence in the region after October 7, Bahçeli said, "The Netanyahu administration is a crisis-production mechanism that threatens the peace of the region. The UN remains indifferent to the humanitarian tragedy taking place in Gaza."

Drawing attention to the ineffectiveness of international institutions against Israel's attacks, Bahçeli described the violations committed in Gaza and Lebanon as a "crime against humanity." Regarding the contacts between Iran and the US in the region, he stated that while these developments are gratifying, they are being followed with caution.

Evaluating the recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz, Bahçeli said that due to the strategic importance of the region, the tensions experienced affect not only the Gulf but a wide geography.

"TARGETING OUR PRESIDENT IS A SIGN OF WEAKNESS"

At the end of his speech, Bahçeli also reacted harshly to the criticisms directed at Turkey by the Israeli administration and some Western countries:

"The fact that this cursed mentality, which ties its political life to a bloody security narrative, adds fuel to the fire to maintain its seat, and tries to cover up the atrocities it has created in the Middle East with a curtain of slander and propaganda, targets our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is a declaration of Netanyahu's weakness, panic, and exhaustion. While the lifeless bodies of children are being buried in Gaza, the dignity of Palestinian prisoners is being trampled upon, land grabbing continues in the West Bank, and the historical and cultural fabric in Lebanon is being destroyed by bombs, attempting to lecture Turkey on morality and shaking a finger at our President is a sign that their intellectual headquarters have surrendered. We are not going to respond to these pathetic discourses from the same pit."
