Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi wrote an article regarding claims that President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held phone calls with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and IYI Party Chairman Meral Akşener before the security meeting at Dolmabahçe.
Selvi stated, “On the night the news of the martyrs arrived, Bahçeli and Akşener called President Erdoğan to receive information about the attack, express their support in the fight against terrorism, and offer their condolences. In other words, Erdoğan did not choose to call the two leaders to inform them,” he said.
"WHEN ELSE WOULD THEY TALK?"
In his article, Selvi also said the following:
“Bahçeli and Akşener called, and President Erdoğan thanked both leaders for the solidarity they showed. He is providing information about the incident. He is listening to their suggestions. Is there a government or opposition in this matter? If they are not going to talk today, when will they talk? The martyrs belong to all of us.
Özgür Özel, on the other hand, did not call President Erdoğan. Because he did not call, he could not speak with the President. It is that simple. It is that clear. I wish Özgür Özel had also called the President. He could have conveyed his condolences on a night when our martyrs arrived and expressed his support in the fight against terrorism. If Özgür Özel is not going to call on such a day, when will he call? But he is not calling.”
