Mother's Day message from Dilek İmamoğlu! 'Until the youth are free...'

Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, wife of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, did not forget the detained youth and the mothers spending Mother's Day away from their loved ones in her message for the occasion. İmamoğlu stated, "Until the youth are free, we mothers will not normalize."

Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, wife of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, did not forget the students arrested during the protests that began following the IMM operations in her Mother's Day message. Dilek İmamoğlu said, "Until all the youth are released and our loved ones return to us, we mothers, in particular, will not normalize; we cannot normalize."

Dilek İmamoğlu added, "I believe with all my heart. We will build fairer and more hopeful tomorrows for children and the youth together."


Dilek İmamoğlu's statement is as follows:

"I celebrate all mothers' Mother's Day with my deepest love and from the bottom of my heart.

We are all going through very difficult days. There are mothers who have to spend this Mother's Day away from their children and loved ones. I feel in my heart the pain of mothers who cannot be with their children, whose freedom has been taken away because they exercised their constitutional rights, and who cannot embrace their loved ones. Until all the youth are released and our loved ones return to us, we mothers, in particular, will not normalize; we cannot normalize. Because we are mothers and we are the conscience of this society.

My late mother always advised me to be conscientious and fair. She taught me to stay away from lies, slander, and evil.

To speak out against injustice done not only to yourself but also to others, to be brave, to love your country, to protect the Republic... These are the values our mothers passed on to us, and that we pass on to our children. Because these common values of society bring us together and serve as a means for social peace. The youth for whose freedom we are raising our voices today are also someone's children; those who are unjustly and unfairly imprisoned were also raised with these values. We are proud of them. Millions are fighting for them with the same feelings.

The youth will regain their freedom and reunite with their families as soon as possible, and we will all embrace our loved ones. I believe this with all my heart.
