Diplomatic traffic for Özgür Özel in Brussels and Berlin
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel will attend the EU Council Preparatory Meeting in Brussels at the invitation of the Party of European Socialists. Özel will address the leaders and subsequently deliver a speech in German at the SPD Congress in Berlin.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's international contacts continue. Invited for the second time to the leaders' meeting in preparation for the European Union (EU) Council meeting, organized at the call of the Party of European Socialists, Özel will be in Brussels tomorrow following the invitation letter he received from European Council President António Costa. Özel will also address the leaders at the meeting, where topics such as the latest situation in the Middle East, the Iran-Israel conflict, the single market, and border security will be discussed.
ÖZEL TO HOLD BILATERAL MEETINGS
Following the preparatory meeting, Özel is also expected to hold bilateral meetings in Brussels. Özel will meet with Party of European Socialists (PES) President Stefan Löfven, Spanish Prime Minister and Socialist International President Pedro Sánchez, German Social Democratic Party (SPD) Co-Chairman Lars Klingbeil, European Parliament Turkey Rapporteur Nacho Sánchez, and President of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament Iratxe García Pérez.
TO SPEAK AT THE SPD CONGRESS
On Friday, June 27, Özel will travel to Berlin, the capital of Germany, to attend the SPD congress. On the second day of the program, where Co-Chairman Klingbeil will deliver the opening speech, Özel will address the participants. As the only speaker among the international guests, Özel is expected to deliver his speech in German.
Özel had also delivered his speech in German at the SPD Congress he attended on December 9, 2023.
Özel will also hold bilateral contacts in Berlin. In this context, Özel, who will meet with Klingbeil, former European Parliament President Martin Schulz, and various ministers and members of parliament, will return to Turkey on Sunday, June 29.
