A new development has occurred regarding Özgür Çelik, whom Gürsel Tekin, appointed as trustee to the Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul Provincial Presidency, had granted permission to enter the provincial building.

Çelik has been referred to the High Disciplinary Board due to actions damaging party discipline.

Özgür Çelik, a member of the CHP Sultanbeyli branch, was referred to the disciplinary board with a request for permanent expulsion with precautionary measures, in accordance with articles 63/5, 64, and 68/1-b of the party bylaws. This decision was taken unanimously by the Central Executive Board, which met on September 15, 2025.

A post made by Özgür Çelik on social media drew reactions among party members.

Çelik added the note, "We are at our Istanbul Provincial Presidency, where there is not even a greeting for those coming from the Sultan's table," to a photo he shared from the Istanbul Provincial Presidency. This post caused criticism among CHP members.

Furthermore, Çelik's response of "We will share it that day too" to a user's post regarding a photo of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel also drew attention. These statements made Çelik's position within the party even more controversial.
