Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was in Ataşehir as part of his local election campaign.
İmamoğlu attended the opening of the newly completed Ataşehir Integrated Public Health Center and delivered a speech there.
Speaking at the ceremony, İmamoğlu said, "May God protect you from bad words, slanders, and conspiracies that make you unhealthy, ruin your mental health, and dampen your spirits. I think this is an important prayer."
Stating, "I think there is only a handful of people left in Turkey for whom my prayer does not reach," İmamoğlu added, "I do not refrain from praying for them either. May God grant them mental clarity, mental health, and the health of good thinking. But they have a situation like this: as the election approaches, their mental health deteriorates for two or three weeks. They get angry, they get aggressive. Then the election ends, and after the election is over, they say, 'Oh, we said those things for political reasons.'"
"CAN SUCH BAD WORDS BE SAID?"
Taking a jab at the government, İmamoğlu said, "And I say, oh my God, my Lord; can a person flip-flop this much for votes, for an election? I mean, can such bad words be said? Honestly, they cannot be said. I cannot do it, it is not done. It is not done. I will not do it. None of my colleagues will do it either. We will not do it, we will focus on our work."
MESSAGE FOR MEDICINE DAY
Celebrating March 14 Medicine Day, İmamoğlu said, "I wish to embrace you all more after April 1, in healthier and happier days, especially when your health, happiness, peace, and oxygen levels increase, and I greet you all with love and respect."
