The race to determine the new Istanbul Provincial Chair of the Republican People's Party (CHP) and 196 convention delegates concluded as of 01:40.
Özgür Çelik, the Bahçelievler District Chair, won the chairmanship race against former Istanbul Provincial Chair Cemal Canpolat with 342 votes, becoming the new Istanbul Provincial Chair of the Republican People's Party.
In the election where more than 600 provincial delegates cast their votes, Cemal Canpolat received 310 votes.

IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu published a congratulatory message on his social media account. İmamoğlu stated, "I congratulate Özgür Çelik, who was elected as the CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair.
