Ekrem İmamoğlu: "I don't understand if Meral Akşener is referring to me"

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made a statement regarding the remarks made by IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener, who said "They are giving away Istanbul" following her meeting with Muharrem İnce.

"NO SUCH TOPIC WAS DISCUSSED"

Responding to questions from journalists, İmamoğlu said, "It is natural for me to meet with Mr. İnce. A new generation of politics exists. No such topic was discussed. There could have been an exchange of information. The name of Izmir was not even mentioned."

Addressing Akşener's remarks, İmamoğlu stated, "I wonder if Meral Akşener is referring to me; I couldn't understand. I didn't hear about Istanbul. I didn't take it personally at all."

İmamoğlu also spoke about the issue of alliances in the local elections. İmamoğlu said, "The ground for an alliance can be formed before the local elections."
