Ekrem İmamoğlu meets with industrialists: 'A nursery beats Kanal Istanbul'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu attended the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO) "Joint Meeting of Professional Committees."

At the meeting titled "The Place of Our Industry in Istanbul's Future Vision, Problems and Solution Proposals," held at the İSO headquarters in Beyoğlu with the participation of approximately 300 industrialists and business people, Ekrem İmamoğlu and İSO President Erdal Bahçıvan delivered speeches. In his speech, İmamoğlu said, "One should not be deceived by the atmosphere created by any temporary element during their term as if it were permanent."

IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu warned that if they cannot stop projects like "Kanal Istanbul," which he describes as a "betrayal of Istanbul," they will be remembered in history as administrators who will be "remembered poorly." In this context, İmamoğlu drew attention to the importance of the city having a 1/100,000 scale plan.

İmamoğlu stated that governments and local administrations are temporary, while the state is eternal, with the following words:

"In our country, there may be governments, there may be local administrations; individuals come and go, but institutions are permanent. Especially our state is eternal; it is as eternal as it is everlasting. Therefore, when we look through the lens of sacred concepts such as our country, our flag, our state, and our nation, one should not be deceived by the atmosphere created by any temporary element during their term as if it were permanent."
