Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who served as an executive at Trabzonspor for a period, made statements to the Ömer Şanlı YouTube channel regarding the Yattara transfer that took place at that time.

'HE LIVES IN BEYLİKDÜZÜ'

Stating that he was the one who welcomed Yattara, İmamoğlu said, "I was 31 years old when I became an executive. Yattara was a very good player in Belgium. Then the transfer happened, he was coming. I welcomed him at the airport. We still meet. He came to see me a few months ago. He lives in Istanbul. I just learned that he lives in Beylikdüzü, out of his love for me. He lives in Beylikdüzü."

Drawing attention to İbrahim Yattara's love for Turkey, İmamoğlu added, "He became one of us, you know. It had only been 2-5 months... Someone who learns a language this quickly... He was speaking fluently. His only misfortune was that he was close friends with a fellow footballer named Hasan Üçüncü. He was speaking just like him, like a true native of Araklı in Trabzon."
