Ekrem İmamoğlu responds to claims regarding Mansur Yavaş: For us, the nation's interest is essential, not the seat

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu spoke following his meeting with CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. İmamoğlu continues his visits to party leaders to discuss the agenda regarding the appointment of trustees.

Following his visit to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, İmamoğlu visited CHP Chairman Özgür Özel at his party's headquarters.

İmamoğlu's statements are as follows:

In 2023, we revived the shaken dreams of our nation. We have words for political hypocrites. Our friendship is based on the nation's interest, not on a seat. We stand for unity, not polarization.

We know the duties our nation expects from us.

Providing information about his meeting with Mansur Yavaş, İmamoğlu said, "Let our nation know, there is a companionship between us that focuses on the nation's interest, not on seats or roles. There is no struggle for seats or positions between us. Let our people know. We see the attacks made against us as an attempt to obstruct the national will. We never find the attacks against us to be isolated incidents. We also determine that they have reached the dimension of a total attack against our party. We also see it as an attempt to obstruct the national will in the first election. What we are facing is organized evil. We are witnessing that they are helpless and cannot struggle against us, who have the national will behind us."
