Ekrem İmamoğlu's 'heist' outburst against the government: 'This public will pull a ballot box heist on you'

Imprisoned Presidential Candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu evaluated developments on Turkey's agenda in a post shared on the "Presidential Candidate Office" social media account. In his statement, İmamoğlu listed his criticisms regarding the "fund crisis," operations against municipalities, economic problems, and judicial decisions.

Arguing that Turkey's agenda is "heists," İmamoğlu said, "I want to share some of my thoughts regarding Turkey's burning agenda. Turkey's agenda is 'heists.' The AK Party government and the palace mentality have completely collapsed."

HARSH EXPRESSIONS REGARDING THE FUND CRISIS

Evaluating the fund crisis, İmamoğlu emphasized that citizens were harmed during the process.

"Those who robbed our nation in plain sight with the 'fund heist,' the robbery of the century, at a cost of 20 billion dollars, have resorted to avoiding accountability and stalling the nation."

REACTION TO MUNICIPAL OPERATIONS

Evaluating the operations against municipalities, İmamoğlu criticized the detention of the Mayor of Eyüpsultan following those in the Adalar and Üsküdar districts.

"Everyone is aware of the operation to seize municipalities, which continues with the detention of the Mayor of Eyüpsultan after Adalar and Üsküdar, by using all institutions of the judiciary and the state. The nature of the unlawful dawn operations carried out against Mersin Metropolitan Municipality and Union of Municipalities of Turkey President Vahap Seçer, as well as the Mayors of Yenişehir and Mezitli, is crystal clear. This is called a 'national will heist.'"

CRITICISM OF ECONOMIC POLICIES

İmamoğlu criticized the government over economic indicators and price hikes.

"From inflation that this government and its incompetent economic management cannot lower, to unemployment, and from unchecked food prices to diesel and gasoline hikes, those who drag the nation into hunger, misery, and unemployment are trying to load the heavy burden they caused onto the back of this nation. This is called a 'price hike heist.'"

EVALUATION OF JUDICIAL DECISIONS

Touching upon the decision regarding T24 and the arrests, İmamoğlu noted that the government is exerting pressure on independent organizations.

"The government, which can produce nothing but crisis and chaos, continues to commit the lawlessness of the century by trying to obstruct independent organizations they fear, as in the 'T24' example, arresting people for saying 'a minister will resign,' and using absurd cases like 'espionage,' 'official car,' and the 'fool case.' It is a 'justice heist.'"

"THIS PUBLIC WILL PULL A 'BALLOT BOX HEIST' ON YOU"

At the end of his post, İmamoğlu included the following message to the government:

"Heisters, I know my voice that you banned is still ringing in your ears. Open your ears wide and listen. You think you have come out ahead with these methods. You think you are the landlord and the nation is the tenant. Be aware: This public will pull a 'ballot box heist' on you. Our nation will hold you accountable and take back its rights. It won't be long now."
