Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu criticized the government during his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tuzla Social Life Center.
İmamoğlu specifically targeted the foreclosure proceedings initiated against CHP-run municipalities over Social Security Institution (SGK) debts, emphasizing that such pressures would not intimidate them.
A WARNING TO THE GOVERNMENT FROM İMAMOĞLU
İmamoğlu used the following expressions in his speech:
"They said if we squeeze their throats, they won't be able to work. The more you squeeze our throats, the harder we work. No matter what you do, the nation sees the difference between a wasteful administration and a pro-people one. This nation will put an end to the era of rent-seeking and begin the era of populism."
The İBB Mayor also addressed his colleagues, highlighting the importance of focusing on the nation's work, and noted the following:
"Everyone who is a part of this journey carries a great responsibility. Those who say 'I have put my head, my hands, and my arms on the line for the future of this country' are the true companions of this cause."
At the end of his speech, İmamoğlu pointed to the public's demand for change and stated that the government would become a thing of the past in the eyes of the nation.
