Ekrem İmamoğlu visits Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, following his visits to Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, has now visited Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club President Hasan Arat.

The two figures appeared before the cameras following their meeting.

Ekrem İmamoğlu made the following statement here:

"Istanbul will host a strong Olympics in the future. Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, and Galatasaray will be the biggest stakeholders in all our work involving sports. In this sense, we need our clubs to play a more active role both in strengthening Olympic branches and in strengthening sports in Istanbul; I thank all three of our major clubs for this.

Our president Hasan Arat is a very special figure with his experience; I am sure that we will benefit from him both in the tasks he has undertaken in Olympic processes and within the framework of our conversations about sports over the years.

We believe that we represent a strong social alliance in solidarity. It is the ancient institutions that will connect this strong alliance. When we look at it, having a 100-year-old institution and discussing the future of the city with this institution is not something every city gets to experience. It is a very special situation that he welcomed us with female board members at our Beşiktaş club on March 8, International Women's Day. I wish our club many more 100 years."

In a post on his X (Twitter) account, İmamoğlu stated, "We visited Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club President Hasan Arat and the club management. We will continue to cooperate with this distinguished sports club of Istanbul in the new term as well."
