AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik is making statements regarding his party's MYK agenda. Reacting to the so-called elections planned in northern Syria, Çelik stated, "We will not allow a 'terroristan' to be established. These so-called elections will be evaluated as a development that threatens national security and will be responded to immediately."
Highlights from Ömer Çelik's statements are as follows: Our President expressed that the upcoming summer period should be utilized well and that the politics of the People's Alliance should be conveyed to the citizens. He once again emphasized his sensitivity regarding the unity of the alliance.
NO TURNING A BLIND EYE TO A 'TERRORISTAN'
''We are closely monitoring the terrorist activities in northern Syria. There was a search for local elections by YPG/PYD elements. We had strongly opposed this. There are various attempts. We will maintain our firm stance. Marketing this as democracy under the pretext of fighting DAESH is unacceptable. In essence, it means the establishment of a 'terroristan'. They are exploiting a method to establish a terror state. This could lead to greater chaos. It will be evaluated as a development that threatens Syria's territorial integrity and Turkey, and it will be intervened in immediately.''
