In a post shared on its X social media account, the Istanbul Beyoğlu Municipality announced that some of its municipal officials were prevented from entering municipal units located inside the district governorate building.

The statement made by the municipality read as follows:

“Dear residents of Beyoğlu, currently, some of our Municipality's officials are being prevented from entering our municipal units located inside the district governorate building. Necessary legal initiatives will be taken against those responsible. We remind you that obstructing public services and public officials is not legal.”

CHP Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney reacted to this obstruction in a post on his social media account.

Inviting those responsible to respect the will of the people of Beyoğlu, Güney said in his post, “Our neighbors should rest assured, no matter what, there will be no disruption in our services to you. We will use all our administrative and legal rights against this practice and defend the rights and laws of Beyoğlu. I remind you by underlining: the religion of the state is justice, it must be justice.”
