Erdoğan accuses CHP municipalities of terrorism: 'They are looting together with terrorist organizations'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan targeted the CHP in his speech at the AKP Muğla 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress. Recalling the appointment of a trustee to the CHP-run Esenyurt Municipality, he accused CHP municipalities of "looting" their resources.

'THEY HAVE ALSO INVOLVED THOSE LINKED TO TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS IN THE LOOTING'

In his speech, Erdoğan referred to the arrest of CHP's Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer on charges of "PKK membership" and said:

"The whole world knows how they have been looting the resources of the municipalities they have managed for years. Moreover, in recent times, they have also involved those who do not cut ties with the separatist terrorist organization in this looting. This struggle for rent is also at the root of the infighting within them."

'CHP IS DRIFTING AWAY FROM NATIONAL AND DOMESTIC VALUES'

Criticizing the CHP for drifting away from national and domestic values, Erdoğan argued that the party is acting as a subcontractor for global projects. Erdoğan added:

"Recently, they have undertaken the subcontracting of global projects aimed at our country. They have become an apparatus for those who are uncomfortable with our country becoming an effective power. One of the most important pieces of evidence of this drift is the shady relationships they have established with various organizations, from FETÖ to the PKK."

'CHP IS FALLING APART FROM WITHIN'

Drawing attention to the conflicts within the CHP, President Erdoğan stated, "The CHP is splitting into pieces and they are trying to undermine each other. The struggle for rent within themselves shows that their management approach has gone bankrupt."

Highlights from Erdoğan's statement are as follows:

"They do not have the slightest solution package in their bags regarding the problems of the country and the nation. They have no such intention or preparation. Although they have no works to show for their efforts, they are very skilled at acting like bullies and starting fights. However, politics is not a job to be carried out only by destroying and putting on shows for the cameras. 

Let's look at the last quarter-century. Who can deny how Turkey has leaped forward with the AK Party's politics of works and services, and with democracy and freedom reforms? Those who oppose our projects the most are the ones who benefit from them the most. The whole world knows how they have left the municipalities they have managed for years behind in terms of infrastructure and superstructure, and how they have looted their resources. Moreover, in recent times, they have also involved those who do not cut ties with the separatist terrorist organization in this looting. This struggle for rent is also at the root of the infighting within them. Yes, I am talking about the CHP. The question 'Which CHP?' inevitably comes to mind. We are facing a structure that is divided into 4-5 pieces under the same emblem and is busy undermining each other. What they will do within themselves is their own business. We are concerned with the general stance of this party. The CHP has been a party at odds with the nation throughout every period of its history. But recently, they have undertaken the subcontracting of global projects aimed at our country. They have become an apparatus for those who are uncomfortable with our country becoming an effective power. Despite hitting rock bottom, we cannot see the slightest sign of self-correction from them. 

We are witnessing the state of negligence surrounding the CHP's structure in every field. Turkey conducts operations for the security of its southern borders, and the CHP stands against us. We take a position in Libya for our interests in the Mediterranean, and the CHP stands against us. We develop attitudes that gain appreciation in all conflicts in the region, such as Russia-Ukraine and the tragedy in Palestine, and the CHP stands against it.

The CHP is drifting further away from national and domestic values. One of the most important pieces of evidence of this drift is the shady relationships they have established with various organizations, from FETÖ to the PKK... We know that a significant portion of those who support the CHP, which has become a puppet of global powers, are uncomfortable with this picture. Their former Chairman did politics for 13 years with arguments handed to him by FETÖ members. The current Chairman also does politics based on false information and conspiracy theories. If we were to stack up the gaffes Mr. Özel has made in domestic and foreign policy, it would make a road to Aleppo. To give him his due, he was entertaining our nation and our youth at first, but it's not even funny anymore. It is shameful for the leader of the main opposition party of a powerful country like Turkey to reduce himself to this state.

We are the party and alliance that has the will, effort, and prescription to solve the problems our nation is experiencing. We are the party and alliance that reads the developments in our region and the world most accurately. We are the party and alliance that can take a stance by taking every risk when necessary to protect the reputation of our country and the interests of our state. We are the party and alliance that has a vision not just to save the day, but to build the future."
