BUSY DAYS IN POLITICS

The political agenda had gone through quite busy days last week. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid a return visit to the CHP Headquarters and held a meeting with Özgür Özel.

Following this meeting, a statement came from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli. In his statement, Bahçeli said, "The formation of a broad-based alliance between the AK Party and the CHP, with the support of the other elements of the six-party table, is the sincere wish and desire of the Nationalist Movement Party."

Following this statement by Bahçeli, AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik said, "The People's Alliance continues on its path with determination."

President Erdoğan, who returned to the country after completing his contacts in Spain and Italy, said in his statement to journalists on the plane, "The statement made by Mr. Devlet was made with a statesmanlike approach, calmly, without giving any opportunity for controversy. I think it is very appropriate that he closed the subject in this way," and stated that the People's Alliance would not compromise its stance.
