Speaking to the Socialist, Democrat and Green Group at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, CHP leader Özgür Özel announced that he will meet face-to-face with President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Speaking in his hometown of Manisa following the March 31 local elections, Özel had stated that he would call Erdoğan during the holiday. Noting that there were issues that needed to be discussed, Özel had exchanged holiday greetings with Erdoğan.
Following the holiday exchange, Erdoğan was asked yesterday, "It is being discussed that CHP Chairman Mr. Özel has requested an appointment from you. What would your response to this request be?" to which he replied, "Our door is open to the CHP Chairman, Mr. Özel. We have many topics to address; we will sit down and talk as soon as they come for a visit."
