President Erdoğan discussed Turkey-US relations and regional developments in a phone call with US President Trump.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with US President Donald Trump. The Directorate of Communications announced that the two leaders discussed bilateral Turkey-US relations as well as regional and global developments.
According to the statement, Erdoğan drew attention to the importance of utilizing diplomatic channels to the maximum extent regarding the tensions between Iran and the US. Erdoğan stated that they hope for the talks to continue and that Turkey will continue to support peace efforts.
Regional security was also on the agenda during the call. Erdoğan expressed that a strong stance is being taken to ensure regional stability and security through the Joint Defense Agreement that Turkey signed with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The situation in Gaza was also on the leaders' agenda. Erdoğan noted that there has been an increase in actions by the Israeli administration targeting Palestinians at a time when the goal is to move to the second phase of the Gaza peace process.
President Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey will continue to support steps to be taken for the establishment of lasting peace in the region and the reconstruction of Gaza.
