Erdoğan calls on youth to marry
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, attending a 'Meeting with Youth' program in Erzurum, drew attention to the fact that young people are not getting married and to rising divorce rates, stating, "30, 35, 40... It just keeps going. One needs to get married as soon as possible."

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended a 'Meeting with Youth' program during his visit to Erzurum.
Pointing out that young people are no longer getting married and that, on the contrary, divorces are on the rise, Erdoğan expressed his reaction to young people not marrying and not entering into marriage at an early age.
Erdoğan stated the following:
"Our nation has had a different kind of sanctity regarding the concept of family from the past to the present. Therefore, we must all protect this concept together. For some reason, young people are not getting married, and divorces are increasing. Men are having trouble with women, and women are having trouble with men when it comes to marriage. We cannot get girls to like boys, or boys to like girls. We need to overcome this. I got married at 25. But now we look; 30, 35, 40... it just keeps going. One needs to get married as soon as possible."
