President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his speech at the 4th Turkey Youth Summit, emphasized that Turkey will move toward a future free from terrorism.

Erdoğan stated, "In defiance of those who try to divide us based on origin, identity, disposition, and sect; we will achieve a united, unified, terror-free Turkey together with you. That is when a brand new page will open for our country. Our greatest work will be a terror-free Turkey."

ATTACKED THE CHP

Criticizing certain past policies, Erdoğan said, "The CHP mentality, instead of embracing our nation's past, limited this country's history to 100 years. We were expected to turn our backs on the past. Our most brilliant periods were ignored. During the single-party fascism era, they wanted to leave our nation without a history through wrong policies. They wanted to cast our values out of our social life. We lived through shameful years when 'Elif-Ba' (alphabet primers) were considered criminal evidence. Do you know that we were given pieces of wood with 'Elif-Ba' written on them? We witnessed the era when locks were placed on the doors of Quran courses. They tried every way to sever us from our spiritual roots. They were also successful to a certain extent in these policies."

Touching upon the importance of Turkey embracing its roots and history, Erdoğan said, "These known circles targeted me for days because I said 'The Turkish nation's dough was kneaded with Muslims.' They criticized us mercilessly because we stood by our history, our roots, and our founding values. If they read a little history, they would understand that the Republic of Turkey is a fresh sprout of the imperial plane tree. If they flipped through a history book, they would see these truths: When justice is mentioned, we come to mind. When nobility is mentioned, we are what come to mind."

'TERROR-FREE TURKEY' EMPHASIS

Expressing his confidence in the youth for Turkey's future, Erdoğan said, "We are not passengers in this country; we are the innkeepers. We are the hosts here; they gave their last breaths dishonorably tens of thousands of kilometers away. The era of the politics of discord has now closed. No one can divide us. We will establish a climate where there is no terrorism and where brotherhood exists in every corner, God willing. In the coming period, we will first reach a Terror-Free Turkey and then a Terror-Free region."
