President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements regarding efforts in the health sector at the “11th Medical Congress and TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science, Service and Incentive Awards Ceremony” held at the Beştepe People's Congress and Culture Center.

At the beginning of his speech, Erdoğan underlined that they do not claim to have solved all the problems in the health system. He stated that they continue to improve health services in line with the demands, criticisms, and complaints of the nation. He noted that the steps taken over the last 23 years have been shaped by the views of scientists.

HE DREW ATTENTION TO MEDICAL DEVICE PRODUCTION

Erdoğan emphasized that a new phase must be entered in medical device production. He expressed that it is mandatory to make progress in this field by increasing the necessary R&D investments.

“WE ARE FAR FROM OUR GOAL IN NATIONALIZATION”

Erdoğan recalled that he has frequently drawn attention to the nationalization and localization process in the health sector. Despite this, he said that they have not reached the point they targeted in medical device and pharmaceutical production. He expressed that they have encountered different obstacles both domestically and abroad in this field, similar to the processes experienced in the defense industry.

“WE WILL CONTINUE WITHOUT GIVING UP”

At the end of his speech, Erdoğan stated that they would continue their work despite the difficulties. He indicated that they would proceed with determination in domestic pharmaceutical and medical device production. He emphasized that they would continue to work, develop, and produce to carry Turkey to a more advanced level in this field.
