Erdoğan: 'For me, this is a final; this election is my last election'

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated, "For me, this is a final; with the authority granted by the law, this election is my last election, and the result that emerges will be the transfer of a trust to my brothers and sisters who will come after me."

Erdoğan met with the 81 provincial representatives of the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) prior to the 7th Youth Meeting organized by the foundation at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall.

AKP's Erdoğan made statements regarding the local elections to be held on March 31 during his speech there.

Noting that they are on the eve of a very important period, President Erdoğan said:

"As you know, March 31 is a turning point in Turkey. And at this turning point, the eyes of the entire Islamic world are on Turkey. What will happen in Turkey? Even though this is not a general election, in this local election, all eyes are on what the result will be for the AK Party. Therefore, I believe that our cause, which has a very strong youth, will hopefully give the necessary answer to those who look at it differently by practically bursting the ballot boxes on the evening of March 31."

"IT IS MY LAST ELECTION WITH THE AUTHORITY GRANTED BY THE LAW"

Reminding that there are 22 days left until the elections, Erdoğan continued his words as follows:

"I am continuing my work without pause. We are running almost without taking a breath. Because for me, this is a final. With the authority granted by the law, this election is my last election, but the result that emerges from here will be the transfer of a trust to my brothers and sisters who will come after me. Therefore, we must make our preparations accordingly and take our steps accordingly so that we want to give the necessary answer to those who look at it differently on the evening of March 31. And hopefully, let us start a new era as of April 1."

Expressing that he believes in and trusts the youth, President Erdoğan used the expressions, "Hopefully, let us make a change and transformation in all these places, especially in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. Because all eyes are here."
