Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, in his article where he recalled the "change of guard" message given by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the AKP Central Executive Board (MYK), used the expressions: "The situation the AKP is facing is not a problem that can be resolved with one or two small changes. There is a need for radical changes in the party management and government staff, policies, political style, rhetoric, and in understanding society."
Selvi warned, "Will Erdoğan lead the AKP out of this? He will. But of course, if he carries out the expected changes. Otherwise, a great disappointment will be experienced."
ERDOĞAN-ÖZEL MEETING
On the other hand, Selvi noted that a meeting between Erdoğan and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel is also essential.
Selvi said, "I do not believe that polarization and tension in politics benefit the country. I find the dialogue between the government and the opposition to be healthy."
