Erdoğan sets a date for metropolitan candidates!

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements regarding the agenda after Friday prayers at the Hz. Ali Mosque in Istanbul.

Erdoğan gave the following response to a question about when his party's mayoral candidates would be announced:

"This week, we held meetings with both the members of parliament and the organization regarding the metropolitan cities of Ankara, Adana, and İzmir. We have taken their opinions as well. On Sunday, we will also take the opinions of the 3 regions. We will work on these and, God willing, towards the end of December, we will begin to announce the candidates for our primary metropolitan cities. We may also announce the candidates for some provinces in the meantime. We aim to announce them as soon as possible without delay."

'SWEDEN' RESPONSE TO BIDEN

Speaking about his meeting with US President Joe Biden, Erdoğan said the following:

"Regarding the developments concerning the F-16s, Biden says that he has a positive perspective and that he is ready to make his proposal to Congress on this point. Their only concern is our approach regarding Sweden. They said that they attach great importance to the decision our Parliament will make regarding Sweden. We told them that our parliament is acting with an honest approach regarding Sweden, provided that Sweden brings its approach regarding terrorism under control, and apart from that, as our national assembly, it has already passed through the commission. Beyond that, our foreign affairs commission is conducting these developments regarding Congress."

CALL TO THE US TO 'GET INVOLVED'

"We discussed the Gaza issue extensively with Biden. And regarding the developments in Gaza, we told him how inhumane it is that over 18 thousand children, women, and the elderly have been killed, and schools, mosques, and churches have been destroyed, and we said that the US needs to get involved here. We told him that if you do not get involved, there is a humanitarian crime and a crime of conscience, and we cannot stand by with our hands tied; we will continue to do what we can, and we evaluated these with him."
