Erdoğan speaks on the fire disaster that killed 29 people: 'We will pursue those who granted the zoning permit'

Erdoğan made significant remarks at the Traditional TÜRGEV Iftar Program.

Key highlights from the statements of AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan are as follows:

-I have always felt happiness in being among the founders of this roof. As a politician who has brought countless works to his country, TÜRGEV has always held a special place in our hearts.

-I appreciate our foundation, which works with all its might to reach one more of our youth and to hold the hand of one more of our children.

-Your role in ensuring our youth are beneficial to the homeland and the nation is irreplaceable. The TEKNOFEST generation will emerge from among you and rise on your shoulders. I see the architects of a determined Turkey here. I see your successful female scientists, politicians, doctors, and exemplary mothers. May God clear the path for each of you.

-As you know, the fruit-bearing tree is stoned; foundations like TÜRGEV have also disturbed certain circles with their services, their existence, and their stance. TÜRGEV, which raises free minds, has been targeted by these segments. You were wanted to be worn down, you were subjected to attacks. They used every opportunity they got to tear down the roofs of service to the youth like TÜRGEV. We did not pay attention to them; we did not deviate from the law and from serving the people and the truth.

"THEY DID NOT UTTER A SINGLE SENTENCE ABOUT OUR LABORER BROTHERS"

-They did not utter a single sentence about our 29 laborer brothers who lost their lives in Beşiktaş. Who are those who gave the construction permit for this building, who gave the zoning permit, and who allowed the basement floors of the building to be turned into a nightclub? We are pursuing this with our prosecutors, and we will continue to do so. Who are they? Who are those who turned a blind eye to the death of our 29 citizens? We will pursue them as well. They buried their heads in the sand during this chain of scandals that should have drawn the reaction of everyone with an ounce of conscience.

-They begrudged the families of people trying to earn their living the solidarity they showed with separatist terrorist organizations. They had done this to the brave Diyarbakır mothers as well. Just to avoid angering their alliance partners, they left these mothers, whose hearts were bleeding, alone. You are the ones who will leave your mark on this age.

-We will not allow anyone to undermine our self-confidence or put a barrier between us and our dreams. We are not only members of a 100-year-old state but also the successors of a 1,000-year-old world empire. We cannot act impulsively like others.

-I appreciate TÜRGEV's digital efforts aimed at the youth. Our expectation is that you become the primary content producers in this field. Developing content in the light of our civilization, our history, and our values and opening them up to our youth and the world are valuable works. I am sure you will not leave the digital world empty. The democracy we have brought to this day with various efforts since Menderes has also emerged successfully from March 31.

"WE BELIEVE THE ELECTION RESULTS WILL BE A HARBINGER OF GOOD"

-We are people who believe in fate and divine decree. We believe that the ballot box results will also be a harbinger of good in terms of our cause, our movement, and our struggle. Throughout history, such results have increased the arrogance of some, the recklessness of others, and the work ethic and will of others. March 31 will be the herald of greater victories.

-We are striving to do our part by pushing our limits. We are now guests of your time, our youth. You will soon shoulder our cause, which was entrusted to us by the men of action, ideas, and heart who came before us, and which we have upheld.
