Erdoğan's advisor lashes out at AKP deputy: 'He got slapped!' 'He will know what he is saying!'

Tekirdağ Deputy Mestan Özcan had recently stated at a dinner he attended that despite his earnings of approximately 500 thousand TL from his parliamentary salary, his position as a deputy, and his pension, he was struggling to make ends meet. Özcan had also claimed that the expenses of deputies could be one and a half or even twice their salaries. These statements caused a wide stir in public opinion and drew significant backlash on social media.

Chief Advisor to the President Oktay Saral responded to this issue during a program he attended on the tv100 channel. Saral expressed his criticism of Özcan with the words, "He has been slapped enough. He regretted what he said. A politician will know very well what he is saying. If you represent the public, you will think a thousand times and speak once."
