Erdoğan's 'Blue Homeland' reaction to CHP: 'We expect a domestic and national stance'

The debate over the "Blue Homeland" (Mavi Vatan), sparked by remarks made by CHP MP and retired Ambassador Namık Tan during the Turkish Grand National Assembly's general session, has become the new agenda of politics. Most recently, President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated, "We expect a domestic and national stance from the CHP on national issues."

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at his party's provincial chairs meeting.

Reacting to CHP member Namık Tan's criticism of the 'Blue Homeland' concept, Erdoğan claimed that the CHP is against the interests of society.

'WE EXPECT A DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL STANCE'

Erdoğan criticized the CHP with the following words:

"Will the CHP ever show the virtue of standing in the same place as the nation's interests? What is the CHP's problem with Turkey's interests? Opposing the government is one thing, providing logistical support to Turkey's enemies is another. We expect a domestic and national stance from the CHP on national issues. If they are not going to do that, at least they should not harm our country with such statements, they should not cast a shadow.

They are winking at someone by calling the Blue Homeland a fairy tale. This is called negligence. We will continue to defend the rights of Turkish Cypriots to the end. In the context of foreign policy, I would like to emphasize this fact: When we look at events, we do not look through the lens of 50-100 years of accumulation, but through the lens of thousands of years of deep-rooted experience. Our line and our character are clear."

REACTION TO ISRAEL

Touching upon Israel's massacres in Gaza, Erdoğan said, "They have committed a barbarity that will overshadow Hitler, the most cursed figure of the last century. Gaza has turned into the world's largest extermination camp today," while also reacting to Western leaders with the words, "Organizations whose duty is to ensure international security have been watching this brutality from afar for almost 300 days. How many more thousands of children must die to see that Israel's invasive policies threaten the entire region? Look, this path is not the right path."

Erdoğan continued his words by saying, "We do not bow to anyone's threats, and we do not fall for the provocations of bloodthirsty murderers. We have reached these days by fighting."

'MY GRANDDAUGHTER SAID "GRANDPA, DON'T GO"'

In his speech, Erdoğan also reacted to the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics and said he would call the Pope as soon as possible.

Erdoğan continued his speech as follows:

"The immorality staged at the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games once again revealed the dimensions of the threat we are facing. Macron invited me, and I said I could come. My 13-year-old granddaughter said, 'Grandpa, don't go.' I asked why, and she said, 'They are going to have an LGBT show there.' She took out her phone and showed me those images on Instagram. I said, 'Okay, my dear, I'm not going.' Look, in our faith, man is the most honorable of all created beings. What they wanted to do in Paris is a project to drag humans to a level even lower than animals.

'IF THERE ARE ATHLETES WEARING HEADSCARVES, THEIR PARTICIPATION IN COMPETITIONS HAS BEEN PREVENTED'

I will call Mr. Pope about this at the first opportunity. While the LGBT lobby becomes even more reckless, humanity is being faced with a great siege. We are not just facing an orientation; there is a fascist imposition targeting our children. France has prevented the participation of French athletes in competitions if they wear headscarves."
