Erdoğan's first comment after the fistfight in Parliament: 'They will not abandon this fascist mindset'
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his speech at the Extended Provincial Heads Meeting, made statements regarding the tension that occurred during the swearing-in ceremony of the new ministers in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Erdoğan described the protest by CHP deputies as a "fascist mentality."

Speaking at the Extended Provincial Heads Meeting held at his party's congress center, President Erdoğan made evaluations regarding the agenda. Touching upon the position of the AKP and the People's Alliance, Erdoğan stated, "The AK Party is Turkey's largest and most institutional political movement today. The People's Alliance is the most solid guarantee of our nation's unity and integrity. Today, the center of politics is the People's Alliance."
A SCUFFLE BROKE OUT DURING THE SWEARING-IN CEREMONY IN THE TBMM
On the other hand, tensions rose during the swearing-in ceremony in the TBMM General Assembly for the new individuals appointed to the positions of Minister of Justice and Minister of Interior. CHP deputies occupied the podium to protest the appointment decisions.
During this time, tension erupted between AKP deputies and the opposition benches. The scuffle turned into a fistfight. Following all these developments, the new ministers took their oaths in the tense atmosphere of the General Assembly.
ERDOĞAN EMPHASIZES "FASCIST MENTALITY"
Directly addressing the events in Parliament during his speech, President Erdoğan targeted the CHP and used the following expressions:
"We have once again witnessed the CHP's fascist and arrogant mentality. They displayed all kinds of banditry, including occupying the nation's podium, to prevent our new ministers from taking their oaths."
"THE OATHS WERE TAKEN, IT IS OVER"
Continuing his remarks, Erdoğan reminded that the swearing-in ceremony had been completed and said the following:
"Are the oaths finished? Yes, they are. What happened? Wouldn't it have been better if you had stayed calm and these oaths were taken properly? It would have. But they lack a democratic understanding.
They cannot abandon that fascist mindset; it is ingrained in their very marrow. By carrying their ugly and vile politics into the General Assembly hall, they showed what kind of politics they practice. You do not have the power to stop this course, Özgür."
