Erdoğan's former advisor lashes out at Constitutional Court President Kadir Özkaya

Prof. Dr. İzzet Özgenç, former legal advisor to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has harshly criticized Constitutional Court (AYM) President Kadir Özkaya.

Özgenç condemned the Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court's failure to implement the Constitutional Court's ruling regarding Tayfun Kahraman, stating that this situation constitutes a constitutional violation.

Prof. Dr. İzzet Özgenç characterized the disregard for the binding nature of the Constitutional Court's ruling and the continued deprivation of an individual's liberty as a clear violation of the constitution. Emphasizing that Tayfun Kahraman should be released immediately, Özgenç criticized this legal situation in harsh terms.

Targeting Constitutional Court President Kadir Özkaya, Özgenç made a striking statement. Regarding Kadir Özkaya's inability to hold back tears during the academic year opening at Malatya İnönü University, Özgenç wrote the following:

“In the face of the standoff with the Constitutional Court and the insistence on not recognizing its rulings, it would be more fitting for this pathetic figure, who continues to sit in the presidential chair without showing any reaction and without feeling any shame, to sit under a tree by the roadside where passersby can see him and continue to cry.”
