The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), which has lost its credibility in the public eye due to the data it has released, calculated the inflation rate for the first half of the year as 16.67 percent. In line with this rate, a 15.57 percent raise was applied for civil servants and retired civil servants, while a 16.67 percent raise was applied for retired workers, tradespeople, and farmers.

The salary of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also increased along with these raise rates. With this regulation, the President's salary rose to 252,227 liras, and the pension for retired members of parliament rose to 149,121 liras. Thus, Erdoğan's total monthly income reached 411,800 liras.

With the new raise, the salaries of members of parliament increased to 229,676 liras, and ministerial salaries rose to 235,527 liras. The pension for retired members of parliament was set at 149,000 liras. The total income of those receiving both a member of parliament salary and a pension rose to 379,000 liras.
