Erdoğan’s local election directive: "Not someone’s man..."

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held his first meeting with his new MYK the other day following the extraordinary congress. The main agenda of the meeting, which lasted approximately 3 hours, was the local elections.

"DO NOT CHOOSE SOMEONE'S MAN, CHOOSE THE PEOPLE'S MAN"

According to a report in the pro-government newspaper Sabah; Erdoğan gave instructions on the correct determination of candidates in local election efforts, stating, "From now on, we are heading to the local elections with all our might. Determine the right candidates, not candidates who are a burden, but candidates who take on the burden. Identify the right candidates. Do not choose someone's man, but the people's man," he said. 

"WE PASSED THE TEST SUCCESSFULLY"

During the MYK meeting, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz gave a presentation on the 12th development plan.

Erdoğan wished the MYK members success in their new duties. Stating that the congress took place in a way that would set an example for Turkey, Erdoğan said, "We passed this democracy test with flying colors."

Stating that local election efforts began following the May 28 elections, Erdoğan warned his staff regarding the identification of the right candidates. Emphasizing that principles should be established for the selection of the right candidates, it was learned that Erdoğan said regarding the candidates, "Let them be names who are loved in the region and who know the region well."

"DETERMINE CANDIDATES WHO TAKE ON THE BURDEN, NOT THOSE WHO ARE A BURDEN"

Stating that there should be more presence in the field and that election efforts should accelerate, it was learned that Erdoğan asked his staff not to leave the field empty by saying, "From now on, we are heading to the local elections with all our might. Determine the right candidates, not candidates who are a burden, but candidates who take on the burden."
