Reacting to Netanyahu's statements, Erdoğan said:
"They will drown in the blood they have shed. There is no escaping this. Netanyahu does not know these things."
Erdoğan stated that he maintains that throughout history, Jerusalem was turned into a land of peace and tranquility through tolerance.
Erdoğan further added, "No one can prevent us from standing with the oppressed people of Gaza. We will not allow Jerusalem to be defiled."
The President described Jerusalem as "the common cause and heritage of the 2-billion-strong Islamic world, along with us."
