Erdoğan’s ‘Terror-Free Turkey’ message in Ahlat: ‘The doors to a new era will open’

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke in Ahlat during the events organized for the 955th anniversary of the Battle of Manzikert. Drawing attention to Ahlat’s place in Anatolian history, Erdoğan stated that the city is the “gateway to Anatolia.”

In his speech, Erdoğan sent greetings to the districts of Bitlis and to citizens in different cities across Turkey, and thanked the institutions, municipalities, foundations, and associations that contributed to the organization of the program. Erdoğan also congratulated the Archers Foundation (Okçular Vakfı), which organized the events.

Emphasizing the historical and spiritual significance of Ahlat, Erdoğan said, “The road to Manzikert was opened from Ahlat. The knot of Anatolia was untied in Ahlat.” Erdoğan stated that the historical spirit leading to the conquests of Jerusalem and Istanbul is also connected to the faith embodied in Ahlat.

In his speech, President Erdoğan also touched upon the “Terror-Free Turkey” process. Stating that a new era will begin for Turkey if the process reaches its goal, Erdoğan said, “When our Terror-Free Turkey process reaches its goal, God willing, the doors to a new era will open before our nation.”

Erdoğan described Ahlat as the “yeast of the spirit of the nation, kneaded by martyrs, veterans, and Anatolia.” Stating that Ahlat represents the legacy of the ancestors, Erdoğan emphasized unity and brotherhood.
