Erkan Baş's reaction to Erdoğan on minimum wage: This people's honor is greater than the Palace and your 22,104 liras!

Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Chairman Erkan Baş, in a video message shared on his social media account following the announcement of the 2025 net minimum wage as 22,104 TL, stated, "This people's honor is greater than the Palace and your 22,104 liras!"

Minister of Labor and Social Security Işıkhan announced in a statement last night that the minimum wage, effective from January 1, 2025, has been set at a net 22,104 liras. Following Işıkhan's announcement, Erdoğan also made a post on his X account, stating, "In 2025, the minimum wage will be applied as a net 22,104 TL with a 30 percent increase. May it be auspicious for our country and our nation."


As reactions to the minimum wage hike grow, TİP Chairman Erkan Baş also criticized Erdoğan in a video he posted on X last night, saying, "Shamelessly, looking us straight in the eye, he says 'May it be auspicious'."

'WHILE YOU WATCH THE VIDEO, THE PALACE SPENT AS MUCH AS YOUR MONTHLY SALARY'

Erkan Baş, in the video he shared with the note, "The minimum wage announcement is a declaration that Turkey is the largest slave market in the world. While you are watching the video below, the Palace spent as much as your monthly salary! Damn this system!", stated the following:

"We are about to end a day that began with 11 of our worker brothers losing their lives in a murder disguised as an 'accident', with a minimum wage proposal that will turn millions of workers into living dead. We are facing a government that deems 22,000 liras a month, a 22,000-lira life, worthy for at least half of its employees. They have effectively said, 'A raise lower than the official inflation rate is enough for you.' The meaning of this is clear; during the AKP era, Turkey has become the world's largest slave market. He sits in his Palace, stripping the people bare, having enriched his entire extended family, the apple of every boss's eye, and on top of that, shamelessly, looking us straight in the eye, he says 'May it be auspicious'."

"In Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, you cannot even rent a studio apartment for this money; this minimum wage is supposed to be auspicious, auspicious for millions of people whose salary runs out by the evening. The money he spends in his Palace in a minute and a half will be the monthly salary of millions of people, is that it? Damn this system! Damn this system that doesn't speak up against this, that leaves the worker and laborer to the so-called unionists whose only duty is to make them give up on seeking their rights, to the so-called oppositionists who don't get involved in anything just so 'our peace of mind isn't disturbed', to the pro-government journalists who don't write about the troubles of the worker and laborer even once, to the pro-boss sycophants who grow fatter by the day, and to this system that pushes the children of the people either into crime or into religious sects or forces them to leave their country!
