Ethem Baykal: Akşener was laughing on election night

Ethem Baykal, the former Disciplinary Board Chairman who was expelled from the IYI Party for making opposition statements against the leadership before the 3rd Ordinary Congress, made allegations regarding Meral Akşener during a live broadcast on Tele1.

"SHE WAS LAUGHING ON ELECTION NIGHT"

Evaluating the 'Dikbayır' controversy within the IYI Party, Baykal also touched upon the elections on May 28. Stating that "Akşener was pleased to lose the election," Baykal said, "I had called for her resignation while she (Meral Akşener) was laughing at the headquarters on election night. Does a party leader who has lost a vice presidency laugh?"

SHE HAD BEEN EXPELLED

Before the 3rd Ordinary Congress of the IYI Party, figures who made opposition statements against the leadership were referred to the Central Disciplinary Board with the signature of IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener and a request for permanent expulsion. The individuals whose expulsion was requested were Founders' Board members Ethem Baykal, Sevinç Gümüş, İsmet Kocak, Günay Kodaz, Musa Ertuğan, and Tamer Kayaalp.
